• A visual artist from DNA, dedicated to the movement of writing to better recount the history of our humanity, Valerie Brunel is a natural-born painter who fell into colors and forms before she knew how to read.

Since then, she has endeavored to incorporate cursive projections into mixed-media tableau that span the cycles of our lives and dance before our eyes.

Her painting is movement, born from an artistic mind questioning through steps and styles, materials and tools.

On canvas or wood, adorned with tags plucked from urban walls or even engraved in aluminum, the visual writing in her most recent creation, Picking Up the Pieces, gives momentum to life. FT

Writing lies at the source of art." Roland Barthes
